The purpose of this book is to show the close relationship between the two schools from the time Franklin College was chartered in 1785 until the present day.
Besides an interesting history of early education, many anecdotes are included as well as 50 biographical sketches in the appendices. This book would be a valuable aid to anyone interested in their state history whether they attended the Academy and University or not.

Alethia E. Bigbie (Lee) Nowell is a native of Claxton, Georgia and served as Librarian and Media Specialist for Richmond Academy for over 17 years. This book, along with Trustees of the Town and Memories: The Academy of Richmond County comprise her trilogy of Richmond Academy. She received her Masters of Education Degree from the University of Georgia.
