This revised and expanded volume introduces a different kind of publication by the Augusta Richmond County Historical Society. The Society has published big books (
Confederate City,
Summerville, The Story of Augusta
) and it regularly publishes a journal. Its mission is to research and record local history. This volume is an "in-between", not a big book and not a journal. The editors hope that timely, targeted and inexpensive publications such as this will reach a wider readership.
This Sketchbook draws upon a variety of writers from students to professionals, each touching on aspects of the Augusta National, its historic setting and its famous Masters Tournament.
Compiled and edited by Dr. Russell K. Brown
editor of
Augusta Richmond County History
,
journal of the Society.
This new and expanded edition contains:
· 10 articles, including 4 not in the previous edition.
· 162 pages, twice as many as the old edition.
· 36 illustrations, many of them new.
